Green Eyes

Green Eyes was a game I played with my cousins at my grandparents' house. It is a mix of hide and seek, tag, and ghost stories. I enjoyed it while growing up, and I hope you will as well.

PLAYERS AND LOCATION

SAFE LOCATION:
My grandparents had a large tree in their front yard. This was our starting location and the safe location we would run to once Green Eyes begins the chase. Find a good location for you group to start such as a large rock, a lamp post, or other landmark.

GREEN EYES:
One player is chosen to be the mighty monster Green Eyes. As the monster, this player hides while the others close their eyes. The player then tries to catch the other players before they can get back to the safe location.

TOUR GUIDE:
This individual is in league with Green Eyes. The Tour Guide knows where Green Eyes is and can't be caught by Green Eyes. He leads the group around with tales of haunted houses, graveyards, and monsters until Green Eyes is spotted.

TOURISTS:
This is the majority of the players. Once Green Eyes is hidden, the Tourists follow the Tour Guide while searching for Green Eyes. If one of them sees the monster, they yell, "GREEN EYES!" It is then a mad rush to the safe location.

HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED

Once it has been determined who everyone will play as, the Tourists close their eyes, while Green Eyes hides. Once hidden the Tour Guide tells everyone to open their eyes and welcomes them to the haunted tour. The Tour Guide then takes them around the location telling them about different landmarks. The Tour Guide may take the group to the man eating plants in the flower garden, the well of spiders, or a tombstone of a famous monster hunter. Use your imagination to create a unique story.

During this time the Tourists are nervously glancing around for Green Eyes. They want to locate the monster from a distance, so they have more time to dash for the Safe Location. Green Eyes waits and if the Tourists get close enough, he can spring towards the Tourists to catch them unaware. When Green Eyes is seen yell, "GREEN EYES!"

Once "GREEN EYES!" is yelled, all the tourists run as fast as they can to the Safe Location and Green Eyes catches as many as he can by tagging them. Once everyone has been caught or reached the Safe Location, we would switch roles and play again.
