Blacksmith

Little details also give more life to a character. I created three belt buckles for the Blacksmith. The plain circle buckle was simple and functional. The other two felt to complicated or out of place. The importance of functionality was the best fit with her personality.

She felt too plain and simple though with the circle belt buckle alone. She needed something else. I experimented with an idea of a tattoo given to her when she was built, but I didn't have a good place for it. I then worked on giving her goggles some extra functionality. As she creates small robotics, she would need to be able to see very small parts. The final design still had the feel of the tattoo I liked and gave her the extra personality.

At last I decided to to give her a bad habit which would be fun visually. The small robotics are an extension of the Blacksmith. They are similar to an extra hand or eye, and as such she subconsciously takes them along with her. These robotics crawl and hover around her, making others feel uncomfortable.
