Blacksmith
Multiple Designs
With the Blacksmith I created a final design, threw it out, created another final design, and threw it out. Each time I thought I had what I wanted, went forward with it, but got rid of it after I found major problems.
The first one I created included a formal design and a superhero design. It helped me explore who she was in public and who she was as a superhero. Once I was done, I received feedback on the design and learned of some major flaws. Her main flaw was her waist was too skinny. I wanted to break away from this stereotype.
The second design pushed her into the blacksmith role and merged the public and superhero together. I was able to move closer to my final design, but she was still flawed in the design. She lacked personality and was stiff. I wanted to exaggerate the character more.
Don't be afraid to try again if your design doesn't work. I went back to the drawing board again and again to create the Blacksmith.
