Blacksmith
Research
There were a lot of ideas that floated around the Blacksmith, and there where many different directions I could have taken the character. I needed to figure out who she was and what she believed in. To do this I did a lot of research.
Part of the research included searching for images. I collected images of characters I liked or portrayed aspects I wanted in my character. I collected images of art styles. I determined why I liked the images, and I began to combine the pieces together. One aspect I fell in love with early on was a character with a large hairstyle. Many other ideas didn't fit and were discarded, but they helped me bring the Blacksmith to life.
Later, I focused on specific elements. These included such things as the hammer and the goggles. I observed different designs to find my inspiration.
